Help me pick out Verizon phone smart!?

Ok, I need help. I look forward to my mobile phone upgrade for a Smart. I'm not sure what I need. I am a 22 year old teacher. I want the Internet aspect and I like a few bells and whistles. But I'm not really sure that the difference between all these. I do not want a phone to high-tech overall, it takes me to get a year to use it! The HTC Touch Pro2 was recommended by a friend but Guy I'm not sure. I'd like a slightly cheaper price, but I want a phone that quality lasts! I have just bought on the Motorola Droid best for Verizon Buy for $ 100. Very easy to use and has everything you need. I would also recommend a tour or new-generation BlackBerry Curve. All phones that have good Functionality and durability. Good luck choosing one.

Is There a Better Touchscreen Smartphone Than the Apple Iphone 3g?

These days it seems almost impossible to go a whole day without hearing about the new Apple iPhone 3G.  With its cutting edge features, it is the touchscreen cell phone that everyone wants to own.  The question is, does it make fiscal sense or even common sense to own one.

Why is an Apple iPhone 3G s special?  The Apple iPhone 3G is what is referred to as a touchscreen smartphone.  You can surf the web, make phone calls, and even instant text message to your hearts content all by touching the screen of the phone.  WOW!  Sounds like there’s nothing else like it?  Well, there is.

There are a number of other touchscreen smartphones that have features comparable to the Apple iPhone 3G.  And unlike the inflexible iPhone 3G that can only be purchased in the AT&T Wireless Store, the other touchscreen smartphones out can be bought online or at the store front.

In this particular articleSearch4cellphonedeals.com will focuses on five different touchsrceen smartphones that are just as sleek and innovative as the Apple iPhone 3G.  The list of phones includes (in no order): the LG Vu, LG Voyager, HTC Touch, Samsung Glyde and the LG Dare.

With any of the touchscreen smartphones in this article, you will have to start a new two-year contract or extend your existing contract in order to get the special prices listed.  Of all the phones covered by search4cellphonedeals.com in this article, the LG Voyager and the HTC Touch are FREE with a new two-year agreement.  The LG Vu is FREE and offers a $49.99 CASH BACK rebate and instant discount with a new two-year contract from AT&T (as of this writing, throughWirefly).  Compare that to what you will pay for an iPhone 3G……$199-$299….you do the math.

Two of the Cell Phones, the LG Voyager and the Samsung Glyde, also incorporate slide-out QWERTY keyboards designed for fast instant text messaging.   This may not be a big deal to the some, but if you ask a teenager or even some adults, fast instant text messaging is the most important feature they look for in a cell phone.  Instant text messaging seems to be the preferred choice of communications in most teens, even over talking.

All of the cell phones that search4cellphonedeals.com are comparing to the iPhone 3G in this article offer big, beautiful touch displays that allow complete control over your cell phones features.  All of these touchscreen smartphones support a full suite of features such as Facebook, Flckr, Google Maps and YouTube.

The following features may be a little more up to date with the newest Apple iPhone 3G versions, but just remember, everyone else is gearing up for their latest releases too.  But as stated earlier, you can only get an Apple iPhone 3G at the AT&T Wireless store (if you can get one, most stores have the iPhone 3G on back order), so you may want to consider one of the other touchscreen smartphones in this article for convenience alone.

When it comes to features, the iPhone is not as cutting edge as you might expect.  All of the touchscreen smartphones mentioned in this article by search4cellphonedeals.com, except for the iPhone, are Bluetooth enabled.  All play MP3s and Acc, but the iPhone does not play WMA like the rest.  All but the iPhone offer photo/digital messaging and voice dialing.  All but the iPhone have memory card slots.  When it comes to speed, only the LG Vu is as slow as the iPhone with a top speed of 1.7 mbps, the rest boast 2.4 mbps.

As for features that the iPhone 3G excels in besides price?  The megapixles on the camera are 2, the same as all but the LG Dare that has 3.2.  The iPhone 3G also has double the memory at 16GB.

Now the inevitable question comes, what carriers work with these other touchscreen smartphones?  The LG Vu, like the iPhone works with AT&T Wireless, the LG Voyager with Verizon Wireless, The HTC Touch with Sprint PCS and Alltel, the Samsung Glyde with Verizon Wireless and the LG dare with Verizon Wireless.  So as you can see there is a wide variety of carriers getting on board with the touchscreen smart phone craze.

It seems that maybe everyone wants the Apple iPhone 3G because it is a status symbol.  Look at me, I have the new iPhone 3G!  To us at search4cellphonedeals.com this makes no sense.  You can get an equally innovative touchscreen smartphone for a fraction of the cost (or even FREE), and you can get it online if that is your desire.  So really, you may be saying, hey look at me, I spent a fortune on a touchscreen smartphone when I didn’t have too.

At search4cellphonedeals.com, we believe you buy for common sense, not because you have to have the hot new phone.  Remember, today’s hot new phone is next year’s dinosaur.  Now this is not to say that the iPhone 3G is a bad touchscreen smartphone and that you shouldn’t purchase one.  Search4cellphonedeals.com is simply trying to shed some light on the fact that there is an alternative (in fact several) out there that can perform lightning fast instant text messaging and much more.  Sometimes in life, it is better to be a leader and not a follower.

New Verizon Phones?

Motorola RIZR Z6tv?
I’m referring to the verizon version:

I currently bought the Razr2 and was disappointed to find out that with the 2 screens that are 2” each, overall I find the phone to be annoying, bulky, wasting space.
October 5 a new phone ,Motorola RIZR Z6tv, comes out to verizon and i was looking to get that, though i am also considering the ‘new’ chocolate. I dont like the krzr or smart phones.

I was wondering if with Verizons user interface, you would be able to receive a text with out opening the phone (sliding it open)
Any suggestions/thoughts on picking phones?

Whatever you do, do not get a Chocolate phone! Everyone i’ve talked to has hated that phone…I mean it looks cool and stuff but did you notice all the verizon advertisements on yahoo? Four new phones are being released but…I know one is going to be a Blackberry type…and im 85% sure that the big phone that’s coming out is going to be the LG Prada…aka iPhone Killer! Just image search the LG Prada…they have some vids on youtube…I was thinking of switching to att and the iPhone but with this new Prada coming out I might stay!

K it’s not the Prada…it’s called the Voyager…LG made…full on touch screen with EnV capabilities…QWERTY keyboard…flips etc etc forget it im going with iphone

I just linked the site!

Android 2.2 Froyo Vs iPhone

Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo are getting ready for another epic battle. On the first look of it the Android performs faster that iPhone except when the former is enabled for Flash 10.1 plugin. Latest devices from respective titans in the world of smart phones, they can both give unforgettable experiences to the user.

Google, Verizon, and Adobe announced their next wave Android based Motorola Droid device on June 23rd. A day later Apple and AT&T launched iPhone 4. Both appeared almost simultaneously in American and European markets.

Market statistics reveal that Apple has already sold by July, 2010 over 600,000 iPhone 4. However, they suffer from serious ordering problems in United States. On the other hand the one launched by Google and others is a significant upgrading of the popular brand of Motorola, the Android. The battle for the smart phone crown is now virtually on.

New iPhone 4 boasts of some impressive items like the front facing camera, high definition 720p recording of videos, 5 megapixel rear facing cameras, three axis gyroscopes, 960×640 resolution and LED display of 3.5 inches. Above all it has much longer battery life than its predecessors.

Android 2.2 Froyo on the other hand has Droid X technology. It features 4.3 inch display, equal video recording capabilities as iPhone 4, HDMI output and screen resolution of 854×480. Eight megapixel cameras with flash and various other advanced features mark the excellence of the device. It also has the capability of using the Flash Player 10.1 used for the mobile devices.

While both the devices look very impressive, android suffers from one drawback that keeps iPhone 4 a step ahead, is the absence of front facing camera. On the other hand the feature of HTC’s Android based EVO 4G keeps it a step ahead of iPhone 4. That means with pros and cons balanced, one is back to square one in determining which one is better; android or iPhone.

Some of the features of Android 2.2 Froyo are new home screen widget tips; and it also has dedicated shortcuts. Improved security, numeric pin, alpha-numeric options for unlocking, remote wipe, exchange calendars, auto discovery, exchange account, global address lists, gallery, camera onscreen buttons, and LED flash enabled for Camcorder. Multi lingual uses can add several languages with auto suggest dictionary feature. Kernel memory management booster improves the memory by 20x.

Apple brings up new nice hardware most of the times. On the other hand a new Android device makes its appearance in the market every time. Apple has lagged behind in keeping pace with Androids in terms of multiplicity of devices.

When it comes to sales as well as market penetration, it seems presently iPhone4 is way ahead. Apple occupies about 28% of the mobile phone market in United States. In contrast the Androids including Android 2.2 Foryo occupy only 9% of the market. Both have grown by around 2% over the years and also by that rate during the first quarters of 2010.

Thus iPhone still has much larger share of the market but Android is coming up very strong and is likely to give them a run for their money in near future.

Verizon Question: Windows Mobile smart phone vs LG Voyager / Dare?

Which one would you go with and why? My old phone broke and I buy a new and was wondering if the Windows Mobile OS is pretty cool, or should I go with the Voyager or Dare only? I've always liked LG phones with Verizon is why I ask. Should I go to a leap of faith with this Windows Smartphones? If not, I should dare or with the Voyager? Who can compare to what you can and not each with? Pros / cons, perhaps? Neither come cheap.

Stay away from Windows Mobile. Everyone knows I used to hate it. It's unstable, crashes from, and to get hard to do simple tasks. Everyone had to play with Windows Mobile, which is on my BlackBerry. The Voyager is a good phone, but there is to do not so much as a true "smart phone" is.

BlackBerry joins the audience with new Smart Phone and software overhaul its new smartphone, called the BlackBerry With Torch, Research In Motion joins the rank of other Phones by offering a fully featured web browser, an integrated market and social apps App.

Best smartphone/PDA phone under verizon wireless?

My phone plan ends in 20 days and I am a college student (20 years old) looking for a smart phone/PDA phone under verizon wireless since my parents are switching to verizon and I want to get cheaper call rates. I’m looking for a phone that has a really good day planner and calander preferably one I can download from my computer since I am very ADD and need to be organized on the go. Also I want to be able to check e-mail, browse internet, use google maps ect. What is the best phone that does all of that? Outside of verizon wireless, what is the best phone out there of all plans?

Blackberry just made a new device that has a remarkable resemblance to the iPhone. With the touch screen, simple buttons, large screen, and a simple device. People think it’s called “THUNDER”. So wait a few days.

Or you could just go with at&t and get the new 3G, GPS, Thinner $200 iPhone. Yes just $200.

AT&T and Verizon Want to Be Your Banks, Too.
AT&T and Verizon are teaming up to test a new payment option for consumers–skip the credit or debit card all together. The two service providers are hoping that the centralizing magic of your smart phone will carry over to payments as well–and they’re probably right. What is the meaning of a "Smart Phone" in comparison to a 3G phone if you only use for the interview?

Ok, I'm not quite so hi-tech and I am confused about the advantages of a "Smart Phone" in comparison to a normal phone with 3G Internet, Bluetooth, etc. when I really only about it for (some speak SMS), and perhaps random surfing the Internet here and there (not "work related browsing, googling just random '' around). The only other feature I use on my mobile phone is the Bluetooth-hook that up to my car (my car is factory fitted Bluetooth, for while talking about the ride is illegal here in California). If my phone has a QWERTY keyboard, 3G Internet, and hook up to my car's Blue Tooth, is it a point to have someone like me a "smart phone"?

You are correct. You do not need a smartphone.

Which phone should I buy? Android Phone or IPhone?

I’ve never really had that sophisticated of a cell phone before, and I’m starting my 2nd year of high school next year. My dad agreed that I was mature enough to buy me a smart phone, and after some research my decision has come to an android phone or iphone (3GS). Well, more specifically my choices are 1. the iphone, 2. the google nexus one (android phone), or 3. the HTC Evo 4g (also an android phone)

So I have a few questions.
1. On Wikipedia, It says that the nexus One will no longer be available as of may 10. So does that mean it is no longer for sale?
2. If I were to pick an android phone, should I buy nexus one (if it is still available) or HTC Evo 4G?
3. Are any of these phones listed not worth buying?
4. Are there any other smartphones that you would highly recommend?

Thanx for your time, and please give me some helpful answers. I will probably be using this phone for a very long time, so I need to make the right decision.

1) nexus one will be available in the stores… online sales will be stopped from may 10( source www.gsmarena.com)
2)tough competion between nexus one and HTC EVO4G.. choice is simple if you want larger screen go for EVO4G.. and has bright display too..
3)listening to music mac lover and all means go for IPHONE… else nexus one
4) i would say you can wait till iphone 4g comes it has multi tasking too… just wait and see the reviews and buy… if you need urgent go for nexus one…
